Overview – Valley of Flowers Trek

Valley of Flowers Trek is one of the most beautiful Himalayan treks in Uttarakhand, famous for its colorful alpine flowers and breathtaking natural scenery. Located in the Nanda Devi National Park, the valley comes alive with vibrant flowers during the monsoon season. The trail passes through lush green landscapes, waterfalls, streams, and dramatic mountain views.

Trekkers can also visit Hemkund Sahib, a sacred high-altitude pilgrimage site surrounded by majestic peaks. The peaceful atmosphere and rich biodiversity make this trek a memorable experience for nature and adventure lovers. Valley of Flowers is an ideal destination for exploring the unique beauty of the Himalayas.

Situated at an altitude of approximately 3,658 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas, the valley is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, lush green meadows, and flowing streams. Its serene environment offers a perfect escape into nature.
The valley is home to more than 500 species of wildflowers, including rare varieties such as Brahma Kamal, Blue Poppy, and Cobra Lily. It also supports diverse wildlife, including Himalayan species like musk deer and various rare birds.
The trek begins from Govindghat to Ghangaria and continues to the Valley of Flowers. This moderate trek offers stunning landscapes at every step, making the journey as rewarding as the destination.
Close to the valley lies Hemkund Sahib, a revered Sikh pilgrimage site situated at a high altitude. Though the trek is challenging, the spiritual ambiance and scenic beauty make it truly worthwhile.
